Clymer to Host Informational Meeting on School Library Funding
WHAT: The House Education Committee will hold an informational meeting on Wednesday to discuss the results of a study on school library funding conducted following the passage of House Resolution 987 of 2010.
WHO: Rep. Paul Clymer (R-Bucks) and members of the House Education Committee. Testifiers will include Molly Phillips, chairperson, Ad Hoc Committee on School Libraries, Pennsylvania State Board of Education; Dr. Mary Kay Biagini, associate professor, University of Pittsburgh; Eileen Kern, president, Pennsylvania School Librarians Association; Sandra Zelno, school reform associate, Education Law Center; Julie Lesitsky, president, Pennsylvania Parent Teacher Association; Dr. Matthew J. Hutcheson, superintendent, Jeannette City School District; Graig Henshaw, school librarian, York City School District; Allison Burrell, school librarian, Southern Columbia School District; Sean Gregory, 2012 graduate of Danville High School, enrolled at Penn State University; and Kristy Oren, junior at Hamilton College in New York.
